IATS-CSIC Scientists Highlighted in the 2026 Stanford Ranking, with Nutrigroup Representation2026-10-22
The Institute of Aquaculture Torre de la Sal (IATS-CSIC) once again features prominently in the prestigious World’s Top 2% Scientists ranking published by Stanford University. A total of five researchers from the center have been included in this elite global list—Ariadna Sitjà-Bobadilla, Pilar Álvarez-Pellitero, Carla Piazzon, Óscar Monroig, and Jaume Pérez-Sánchez—representing 20% of the institute's permanent scientific staff, with three of them ranking within the top 0.5% in their respective fields.
Among those recognized is Research Professor Jaume Pérez-Sánchez, head of the Fish Nutrigenomics and Integrative Biology Group, who renews his presence in both evaluation categories: Career-Long Impact and Single-Year Impact.
Nutrigroup emphasizes that this recognition is the collective outcome of more than 30 years of shared effort and collaboration among researchers, technical staff, students, and partners in advancing aquaculture science.
